About Jacqueline: A very long time ago, before girls were allowed to join Scouts, I was a Girl Guide. I enjoyed it very much, but I admit I was always rather jealous of the brilliant adventures the Scouts had - had I been allowed to be a Scout back then, I would have been first in the queue. I am therefore delighted to be involved now, all these years later! I am especially pleased to be working with the Beaver Scouts. I started out as a rather shy and pretty rubbish Parent Helper, and I soon noticed how enthusiastic and eager they are - to learn new things, to make new friends and, most of all, to have brilliant fun every week. Whether we are playing games outside, doing messy crafts, singing silly songs or demonstrating being kind and loving our world, the Beavers always give 110% and they are a pleasure to be with every week. I love seeing how they much they learn in a fun, teamwork based environment; and how they develop independent thought and problem-solving skills, and grow so much in confidence. When I am not encouraging your children to cover themselves with paint, run around until they drop or throw water at each other; I am an outdoorsy type who likes walking, cycling, geocaching, camping and jumping in muddy puddles; and I am also very involved with Bothwell Community Garden and the Bothwell Scarecrow Festival. When I'm feeling less active, I reading, crochet and making jam from whatever I can find in the cupboard.
